Seminole remains perfect in District 5

Dominick Santini helped Seminole stay undefeated at the District 5 Major Baseball All-Star Tournament. Santini's home run helped trigger a nine-run fifth as Seminole defeated Meadowlawn 10-0 in five innings. Santini also pitched a complete game for the win.

Also in District 5, Jordan Wilson, Austin Barber, and Andy Arrington scored key runs in Azalea's 9-3 win to eliminate Baypoint. Demitri Sorgic was the winning pitcher.

MINOR BASEBALL: Oldsmar won the District 12 championship with a 5-4 win over Palm Harbor National on Wednesday. Cody Johnson pitched the final five innings for the win, and Vinny Mannello scored the go-ahead run. Oldsmar advanced to the championship game with a 4-2 win over Clearwater in extra innings on Tuesday. Oldsmar will host the sectional tournament July 19.

MAJOR BASEBALL: On Tuesday in District 12, Colby Kirane picked up the win in West Pasco's 5-0 win over Largo. Seminole defeated Northwest 13-1 in five innings in District 5, with four Seminole pitchers combining on a no-hitter.

JUNIOR BASEBALL: Matt Mooney struck out six of the 22 batters he faced Tuesday in Palm Harbor American's 5-0 win over Safety Harbor in District 12. Jamison Sweat and Tanner Tillung each had run-scoring hits for Palm Harbor American.

MAJOR SOFTBALL: Cross Bayou advanced in the winner's bracket after defeating Gulfport/Azalea 13-11 on Wednesday. Linette Mcleod drove in two runs, Carly Van Auken had four hits and Jessica Bass hit a triple.

JUNIOR SOFTBALL: Pinellas Park National advanced to the District 5 semifinals by beating Northeast/Gulfport 16-3. Angela Dowling's triple was one of the offensive highlights.
