Published Sep. 1, 2005

Rescue workers free a man pinned in his car after a collision on U.S. 41 Thursday morning in Brooksville near the Hernando County Airport. Witnesses reported a brown Chrysler Cirrus weaving in and out of traffic until it sideswiped a truck, causing the truck to overturn around 10 a.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol Cpl. B.A. Riordan. The car's driver had leg fractures and was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, fire rescue chief Larry Nichols said. The truck driver had minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Both lanes of U.S. 41 were blocked.
