Surveyors on State Road 52 have been a regular sight this spring and early summer, but the real work isn't set to begin until next year.
The Department of Transportation plans to seek bids beginning in the spring on a 6.6-mile resurfacing job from Interstate 75 east to the outskirts of Dade City, ending at Smith Road, near the James Irwin education center, DOT spokeswoman Kris Carson said Wednesday.
The project will resurface both lanes of the state highway, with an estimated cost of about $6-million.
Work is expected to being next summer.
