A 67-year-old man, suspected of fatally shooting his wife this week before attempting suicide, has died
Robert Hubbard died Thursday at Naples Community Hospital, spokeswoman Pat Wagner said Friday. Police said he shot Phyllis Hubbard, 62, on Monday night, then he turned the gun on himself.
He survived and attempted to flee in his red Mustang convertible, which has stopped by deputies at the entrance to the mobile home park where the couple lived, officials said.
Neighbors heard the couple arguing just before 8:30 p.m. Monday, when deputies received a call about the shooting at the Hubbard home. The couple had just returned home from dinner out at an East Naples bar and restaurant, officials said.
Police said there was no previous reports of domestic violence involving the Hubbards.
