Brooksville man accused of videotaping boys

Published Sep. 1, 2005

A 67-year-old man was arrested Friday after he was accused of secretly videotaping young boys, including one in the bathroom at a Hernando County water park. Robert Goodwin Lake of 1029 Cloverleaf Circle, Brooksville, was charged with voyeurism _ a felony _ after authorities saw him leaving a men's room at Weeki Wachee Springs, State Road 50 and Commercial Way, with a video camera. He was being held at Hernando County Jail on $2,000 bail. Upon reviewing the videotape, authorities found several shots of boys, one of whom was alone in a bathroom stall, a sheriff's report stated. Authorities did not disclose how the boys were videotaped or how they were contacted. However, Lake told authorities that he had purposely gone to the park to make a videotape so that he could view it at home later, a report stated. Lake, who is divorced and retired, was charged 25 years ago with exposing himself to children. He was convicted and given a mental evaluation, a report said.
