Man shot at traffic light after dispute at club

A 28-year-old man was shot after getting into an argument at Club XS downtown early Monday, authorities said

Dondre Raynell West of Tampa and a friend got into an argument with a man at the club at around 3 a.m. West and his friend left the club and drove away.

Tampa police said West was stopped at a traffic light at Hillsborough Avenue and Interstate 275 when the man from the club stopped his green Chevrolet Tahoe behind them.

The man got out and shot West in the upper body. West was taken to Tampa General Hospital and was in serious condition Monday morning, according to police.

Authorities are still searching for the shooter, who was described as a black man, age 20 to 27, about 240 pounds with shoulder-length braids. The Tahoe he was driving had 22-inch silver rims.
