The Damms

Robert and Dorothy Damm of Hudson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a family dinner party at Jessie's Dockside in Dunedin.

Their son Bob and his wife Doreen of Oldsmar, son Bill and his wife Debbie of Longwood, and son Jim and his wife Jamie of Sanford attended. They have 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple married April 8, 1953 in Valley Stream, N.Y.

They were wartime sweethearts, marrying after his tour in Korea, where he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. They spent their wedding night in their new home in Great River, N.Y.

The Damms moved to Hudson in 1971. He retired from Borden Dairy and she retired from Kmart.

They enjoy traveling in the Tennessee mountains and spending time with their family. She enjoys reading. He likes gardening and reading and they both enjoy dining out.
