Students at St. Petersburg College can expect two significant changes this coming school year: The Clearwater campus has a new leader and a building will open. Stan Vittetoe, chief executive officer of a technical school in South Dakota, will start as provost of the local campus Aug. 11. The provost is head of operations at the campus. Vittetoe is the chief executive of Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls and the former dean of a community college in Iowa. Vittetoe replaces former provost Patricia Rowell, who became senior vice president of administration for the college. The school also plans to open the Crossroads Building sometime this year. The one-story building will house architecture studies, fine arts, humanities and the Muse Gallery.
