Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Brian Tilki, son of Joseph and Jeanne Tilki of St. Petersburg, recently was deployed to Germany for a six-month tour of duty. His home base is Little Creek Amphibious Base, Virginia Beach, Va. He is an engineman.

Army Pvt. Steven Baum, son of Rebecca Baum of St. Petersburg, recently completed basic training and has graduated from Military Police School at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He attended Northeast High School.

Navy Hospitalman Recruit Antrone J. Tumbling, son of Dondrea L. Mitchell of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the Basic Hospital Corps School at Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2002 graduate of Northeast High School.

Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Rachel Bernstein Watson, granddaughter of Cora and Ralph Herndon of St. Petersburg, was promoted recently to her current rank and received the Navy Commendation Medal. She is a hospital corpsman. Called to active duty in January, she is currently serving with the 22nd Construction Regiment in Gulfport, Miss., as head of the medical department. On release from active duty, she will return to the 20th Seabee Readiness Group Augment. She is head of the Mobile Training Team, which provides training to the 1st Naval Construction Division units in the eastern United States. Watson attended Dixie Hollins High School.

Marine Corps Pvt. Ann M. Hardenbrook, daughter of Marie and Tommy Hardenbrook of Seminole, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. She is a 2002 graduate of Seminole High School.
