Missionary from Kenya to visit area churches

Elmira Sellu, a missionary from Kenya, will visit several area United Methodist churches. Ms. Sellu, who is with the general board of global ministries of the United Methodist Church, works with women and youths on such issues as health, domestic abuse, parenting and educational programs. During her visit, she will talk about the programs and answer questions.

Her schedule Monday is as follows: 10 a.m., Seminole United Methodist Church, 5400 Seminole Blvd.; 12:30 p.m., Lakewood United Methodist Church, 5995 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. S, St. Petersburg, and 6:30 p.m., Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 825 Howard St., Clearwater.

At 10 a.m. Tuesday, the missionary will speak at Community United Methodist Church, 3214 U.S. 19 N, Holiday. Call 727-512-1504.

Women's association appoints church officials

The Women's Fellowship at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 6315 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, recently installed Lois Nelson as president and Jane Biggs as vice president.

The organization will resume its regular meetings and programs, held on the second Thursday of each month, in September. The group, open to men and women, also holds summer social gatherings. Call 727-347-1226.
