Report cites seizures before car-truck crash

A woman who crashed her car into a semitrailer truck on U.S. 19 Monday evening had seizures moments before the accident, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.

The driver of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo was identified as Genice A. Marrs, 37, of Spring Hill. Marrs was carrying two children in her vehicle.

A spokeswoman for Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg on Tuesday said that Marrs had been released and that one child was sent to All Children's Hospital, also in St. Petersburg. No information was available on the status of the second child.

The crash happened about 5:15 p.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. 19 and State Road 52. The report said the Monte Carlo swerved as Marrs had seizures and struck a Jeep, then the truck. Equipment from the truck caused damage to a fourth vehicle.
