CHAPLIN, HELEN M., 71, of Spring Hill (Pasco County), formerly of Tarpon Springs, died Monday (July 7, 2003) at Life Care Center in New Port Richey. She came here in 1986 from her native New York and was a retired secretary for the phone company. She was a member of Gulf Harbors Yacht Club, the New Port Richey Eagles and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Asaria, Mount Holly, N.J., and Carol Trani, Spring Hill; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.

COLLINS, MARIE P., 71, of Zephyrhills, died Tuesday (July 8, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. Born in Hartford, Conn., she came here in 1996 from Jewett City, Conn., and was a homemaker. She was Methodist. Survivors include her son, Jeff, Jewett City; two daughters, Michelle Dillon, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Janice Collins, Zephyrhills; two brothers, Robert Adam, Uncasville, Conn., and Jean Adams, New Britain, Conn. O'BRIEN, LORRAINE M., 78, of New Port Richey, died Tuesday (July 8, 2003) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she came here 24 years ago from Pearl River, N.Y. She was a homemaker, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was active in the St. Margaret's School Auxiliary, was a lifetime member of the Columbiettes and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, Terrence and Thomas, both of New Port Richey, and Eugene, Laurel, Md.; a daughter, Mary Mulderrig, Pearl River; and 16 grandchildren. REEVES, CLIFFORD E. SR., 89, of New Port Richey, died Friday (July 4, 2003) at home. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he came here 28 years ago from Mahopec, N.Y. He was an electrical foreman employed by the Penn Central Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Veronica; and three sons, Clifford E. Reeves Jr., Mount Vernon, N.Y., Earle, New Port Richey, and Ronald, Londonderry, N.H. Prevatt Funeral Home, Hudson.

ROSE, ARLENE J., 88, of Port Richey, formerly of Holiday, died Wednesday (July 9, 2003) at LaCasa Grande ALF in New Port Richey. She moved to Holiday in 1974 from her native Hillman, Mich., then moved to Port Richey in 2000. She was a homemaker and member of Faith Lutheran Church of New Port Richey, where she volunteered in braille work for the blind. Survivors include her husband, Hubert; a daughter, JoAnne Harris, Lutz; and two granddaughters. Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Homes, Holiday.

SCHREIBER, RUTH H., 86, of Hudson, died Tuesday (July 8, 2003) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here 14 years ago from Bellmore, N.Y. Survivors her son, Robert, Huntington Station, N.Y.; a daughter, Nancy D'Avanzo, Hudson; and six grandchildren. Faupel Funeral Home, Port Richey.

THOMAS, HENRY A., 84, of Zephyrhills, died Saturday (July 5, 2003) at home. Born in Hartford County, Md., he was an evangelist and carpenter. He helped form the Tampa Fellowship Alliance Church in the early 1950s. He was also a well driller, working in Maryland, Alaska and Florida. He was a veteran of the Army Corps of Engineers. He was president of the Zephyrhills Kiwanis and a member of the American Legion and Commander of Post No. 118. He was also active in the 1918 Club. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia L. Templin, Dade City; two sons, Stephen A. Thomas, Anchorage, Alaska, and David H. Thomas, Huntley, Mont.; a sister, Mary Chiveral; five brothers, Ralph, Calvin, Wilbur, War Dell and Leonard Thomas; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
