The Redlands Christian Migrant Association in Dade City plans to hold a haunted house fundraiser from 7 to 9 tonight at its center at 36233 Clinton Ave.
The entry fee is $2.50, and the first 100 children through the door will receive a free bag of candy, area coordinator Angelica Herrera said.
The money raised from the haunted house will be used toward equipment and supplies for its new building on 14th Street across from the Redlands association's Migrant Head Start Center, she said.
Workers broke ground in April on the new before- and after-school center for children in Tommytown that will feature language and computer labs, as well as basketball courts. A $730,000 federal community development block grant made the construction possible.
In addition to the labs, GED classes will be offered at the 6,541-square-foot center, which also will feature two community rooms.
Herrera expects the new center to be ready to open in January.
