Oh, baby

The episode of Designer's Challenge taped earlier this year in Tampa will be on the air this week. "Welcoming Baby," in which designers created an ultramodern nursery ("No pink!") for a South Tampa couple and their newborn daughter, is scheduled to appear on HGTV at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, 1:30 a.m. Friday, and 3:30 p.m. Nov 9.

Avoid Christmas crunch

Time to get serious: Christmas is 54 days away. (See our holiday lights coupon on this page!) Your goal is to complete your shopping by Thanksgiving. "Dream on," you say, but here's the tradeoff: Where would you rather spend your December evenings, battling the crowds in the mall or at home relaxing and enjoying stress-free time at holiday events? Fall home show

Today and Sunday, visit Florida's Largest Fall Home Show at the Florida State Fairgrounds, U.S. 301 at Interstate 4. Expect everything from cooking demonstrations and replacement-window booths to the latest technology and countertops. TV handyman Marty Dunham will be there to explain "Why You Shouldn't Do It Yourself." Hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sun..
