NOTES: Back for a last blast at Pinellas Park's track are the indomitable School Bus Figure 8s. In the season's final showing of the spectacle, drivers will compete for the standard 6-foot tall trophy and, um glory? Wayne Calkins has been a force in the just-for-fun division, smashing his way to a second-place finish in the race's first showing followed by a victory in the second event Sept. 20. Raymond Holtorf is a proven competitor, beating Calkins in the first race and coming away with the fourth-place award in the second. Expect mayhem. Sunshine also will give standard-division drivers the chance to improve in the points standings as the season treks into its final three weeks. Mini Stock's Ronnie Larson and Macky Mongold, who drive car No. 88 and 6, respectively, are locked in the tightest numbers battle, fighting for the lead with a mere seven points between them.
