No. 13, Par 3, 175 yards

On a course loaded with long and challenging holes, the Copperhead's 13th is supposed to be an oasis. Though requiring a carry over water, a 175-yard downhill tee shot is not going to intimidate a touring pro.

Yet this par 3 ate up the leaders and ranked as the third-most difficult hole on the entire course.

Retief Goosen bogeyed it after getting to 12-under par with a birdie at the par-5 11th. Vijay Singh, hot in pursuit with a round of 65, made his only bogey there. And Jose Coceres, who never really got much of anything going en route to 72, included the 13th among his five bogeys.

The field averaged 3.31 shots on the hole and only yielded eight birdies. Pin placement played a big role, as the flag was located 25 paces back and eight from the right edge.

Nothing like a nice little birdie on the 18th hole from a tournament leader to please the fans and television audience. But for Goosen, Saturday's closing highlight could prove big today.

A bogey at the par-3 17th dropped him to 10-under for the tournament, one shot ahead of Briny Baird. Goosen had not seen 10-under since the 7th hole and had enjoyed a multiple-shot lead for most of the round.

With a 144-yard 9-iron hit to 5 feet, 11 inches on the last hole, he reclaimed a two-shot lead.

"It was nice get a good driver away and hit a soft 9 (iron) in there," Goosen said. "It was nice to finish off that way."

Hank Kuehne, tied for 16th, has hit three of the longest officially measured drives of the tournament, including one of 328 yards at the 14th hole on Saturday. Kuehne has wrapped up the PGA Tour driving title for this season with an average of 321.6 coming into the Chrysler Championship.
