Ben Dougherty threw for 277 yards and a touchdown and ran for 64 and two scores, and Florida A&M had five interceptions to snap Hampton's six-game winning streak 34-23 Saturday.

Rod Miller had 11 receptions for 124 yards and Rashard Pompey ran for 57 yards for the Rattlers. Dougherty completed 30 of 46 passes.

Dougherty got FAMU on the scoreboard first with a 4-yard run in the first quarter. He added a 21-yard touchdown run with 36 seconds left in the third quarter to put the Rattlers ahead 28-10.

The Pirates attempted a fourth-quarter comeback. Tim Frazier completed a 50-yard pass to Jerome Mathis to set up first and goal at the 2, and one play later Rian Thompson rushed in for the touchdown to cut the deficit to 28-17.

On the ensuing kickoff, Michael Fisher took the ball at his 5 and raced down the right sideline for a 95-yard touchdown return. It was the first kickoff returned for a touchdown against the Pirates since Bethune-Cookman's David Williams had an 89-yarder Sept. 30, 1995.

Frazier threw for a career-high 361 yards, and Mathis caught four passes for 141 yards and a touchdown. The Pirates ran for 93 yards, gaining fewer than 100 for the first time since the opening game of the season against Villanova.

The game between the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference teams was officially a nonconference matchup because Florida A&M is moving to Division I-A next season.

FAU 31, GARDNER-WEBB 26: Anthony Jackson ran for 108 yards and scored twice to lift the host Owls.

Jackson carried 20 times in a balanced effort for Florida Atlantic. Jared Allen and Danny Embick each threw touchdowns. Allen was 9-of-13 for 140 yards, and Embick was 6-of-8 for 56 yards.

The Bulldogs cut the lead to four in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Nick Roberts.

Gardner-Webb regained possession at its 21 with 2:52 left, but the Owls stopped it on four plays to seal the victory.

Roberts completed 26 of 41 passes for 206 yards. Chris Foster ran 13 times for 105 yards and scored once. Harold Wells also ran for a touchdown.

With the score tied at 14 in the second quarter, Jackson scored his second touchdown to give the Owls a seven-point lead.

Florida Atlantic made it 28-17 after Embick found Anthony Crissinger-Hill for a 2-yard scoring pass.

Gardner-Webb scored first, culminating an 11-play, 72-yard drive with Foster's 4-yard run.

N.C. A&T 13, B-CC 7: Quarterback Rico Watkins had a 4-yard touchdown run as the visiting Aggies remained unbeaten in the MEAC.

Watkins engineered a 12-play, 80-yard drive late in the third quarter to give North Carolina A&T the lead for good.

The Wildcats scored on their first play, Allen Suber connecting with Patrick Brown on a 66-yard pass after an Aggies fumble.

The Aggies tied it in the second quarter when Brian Moye blocked Davis Player's punt, his second block of the game. Charles Parham recovered in the end zone.

North Carolina A&T's defense stymied the Wildcats most of the way, forcing three turnovers, blocking the two punts and working the clock in the fourth quarter.
