Jackie Yost, 75,

Treasure Island

Yost won her age division (75-79) at the USA Triathlon National Championships Oct. 4 in Shreveport, La., finishing the 1,500-meter swim, 40K bike and 10K run in 3 hours, 59 minutes, 33 seconds. Yost, a member of St. Pete Mad Dogs with her husband Larry, has competed in more than 100 triathlons since 1993. She is undefeated in sprint triathlons this year.

Marty Slade, 37,


Slade won the Randy Keys Kingfish Classic with a 30-pound kingfish caught in 70 feet off St. Pete Beach. Slade, who has been saltwater fishing for five years, honed his skills angling for bass in the farm ponds of Illinois. Slade and wife Vanessa are avid inshore and offshore anglers.

Chris Scott, 17


Scott continues to make a name for himself on the cycling scene. On Oct. 11 he won the 54-mile Florida State Championship Road Race in the 17- to 18-year-old division. A week earlier, he had three top-5 finishes at Cycle Fest in West Palm Beach. In July, he finished fourth in the 17-day International Cycling Festival in Wisconsin.

Derek Fudge, 21,


Entering Saturday's game against Findlay, Fudge, an East Bay graduate, was 244 yards shy of 4,000 rushing yards for his career at Ferris State. Fudge averages 120 yards for the Bulldogs and was 436 yards short of Hillsborough High graduate Mo Harris' all-time rushing mark of 4,192 yards with three games to play.
