Corrections officers confiscated several rocks of crack cocaine, a pipe for smoking it, two cigarette lighters, $105 in cash and 14 metal studs used for tongue piercing from an inmate at the Land O'Lakes Detention Center on Sunday.
Daniel Duane Stiles, 25, of Port Richey said he brought the contraband into the jail during a previous arrest, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office report. Stiles is facing charges of grand theft and dealing stolen property.
Several other confiscated plastic sandwich bags contained cocaine residue, according to the report.
Other inmates told corrections officers that Stiles was trying to sell the crack and the pipe. When confronted about the contraband, Stiles turned over two cigarettes, a pack of loose tobacco and two plastic sandwich bags containing a white, powdery residue, the report said.
A search of his shoes revealed the cash and metal tongue piercing studs while a strip search uncovered the crack pipe, cigarette lighters and a $10 bill, all of which Stiles tried concealing between his buttocks. The State Attorney's Office will continue an investigation into the matter.
