The qualifying period for this March's municipal elections has been moved forward more than a month so election officials can prepare for the spring's presidential primary. Candidates who want to run for one of the three open seats can pick up election packets starting at 8 a.m. Nov. 17. The qualifying period ends at 4 p.m. Dec. 12. Council seats 2 and 4, held currently by Babe Wright and Don Bohr, respectively, along with the mayor's seat, held by Jerry Beverland, are up this spring. The election is scheduled for March 9.
