Boca Ciega runs away to division title

Boca Ciega cruised to the Pinellas County Athletic Conference south division title with a 63-38 victory against Pinellas Park.

Boca Ciega (11-5) used a 23-0 fourth-quarter run, keyed by Villamarie Binaley's six points and Ashley Williams' five.

Tiffany Williams led Boca Ciega with 25 points, including 15 of the Pirates' first 29. Binaley finished with 12.

"Tiffany is a great catalyst for our team. She's a great ball-handler and a great scorer for us," Boca Ciega coach Will White said.

Boca Ciega closed the first half with a 9-0 run to lead 29-22.

Pinellas Park cut into the lead with a 9-1 third-quarter run, and it took a 31-30 lead on Amber Cross' basket. A three-point play by Tiffany Williams jump-started the Pirates, who led 40-38 after the third.

Jalisa Foster led Pinellas Park with 12 points, and Cross scored nine.
