CAVALIERS-BLAZERS TRADE

Forward Darius Miles, fined by Cleveland for oversleeping and skipping a practice earlier this week, was traded to Portland for guard Jeff McInnis and center Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje.

Miles, 22, who went straight from high school to the NBA in 2000, was averaging 8.9 points in 24 minutes per game but he has been plagued in his career by inconsistency.

McInnis, 29, will give Cleveland some depth at point guard and another veteran to surround rookie star LeBron James. Boumtje-Boumtje, 25, has been used sparingly.

WNBA: Marianne Stanley resigned as coach of the Washington Mystics to pursue "other endeavors," said team president Susan O'Malley. Stanley was 26-40 over two seasons, including 9-25 last year.
