Countryside's DeNunzio chooses Harvard

Countryside's Dominic DeNunzio wanted to go to a school that was not only competitive in wrestling, but one that also had an outstanding and well-deserved reputation for academics.

In other words, he wanted the Ivy League.

Since the summer DeNunzio has taken trips to Pennsylvania, Princeton, Columbia and Harvard. His choice ended up being easy. Sticking with the same school his older brother, Dustin, attended, Dominic decided to go to Harvard.

"It was just the best fit for me," Dominic said.

Dustin, a former state champion at Clearwater Central Catholic, wrestled for Harvard and was a two-time All-American. He lives in Boston and is in his second year as a volunteer assistant with the program.

"My brother lives close to the school, and the head coach (Jay Weiss) is still the same," Dominic said. "I think (Weiss) was just as excited as I was about my decision."
