Sites have high bacteria levels

(ran PW, PS editions)

Water advisories remain in effect at Brasher Park Beach and the Energy and Marine Center, both in Port Richey, as health officials continue to find high levels of enteric bacteria in the water.

The bacteria are an indication of fecal pollution, which could come from stormwater runoff, animal waste or human sewage, the Pasco County Health Department said Thursday. Both facilities remain open, but officials say the water could pose "a potential health risk to the bathing public."
