WHERE: 4500 Ulmerton Road (State Road 688).
ADMISSION: Adults, $15; children 6-12, $5; children 3-5, $2; children under 3, free; parking, free.
NOTES: The track will unlatch its gates for the annual mid-offseason event, keeping race-starved fans nourished to the 2004 opener. Standard Figure 8 driver Wayne Calkins owned the Bus division last year, and he's a contender for the top spot. Keep an eye on his closest competitor of late, Raymond Holtorf, as well as Brian Hayn, a recognized force. Donnie Thomas, guiding No. 40, won last year's Revard Memorial and tied Art "The Master" Calkins' total win count of the January staple at two. Shane Grigsby is a threat, emerging from the fray as last season's points champ in the Figure 8 class. The 10-point rule will be in effect: Any racer who takes the green flag will score points for the upcoming season.
