Brett Vicario, son of Angelo and Barbara Vicario of Seminole, received a doctorate in counseling psychology from Auburn University in Alabama.

Vicario is a 1990 graduate of Seminole High School and a 1994 graduate of Florida State University. He received his master's degree from Auburn University in 1998.

Brett is employed at the Student Counseling Center of the University of Florida.

The Florida Association of Broadcasters has awarded $3,000 scholarships to Esther Melanie Ulrich of St. Petersburg and Nicholas G. Fokianos of Tarpon Springs.

Ulrich, a senior communications major at Eckerd College, has been an active member of the Rojans Society, the Key Club, St. Petersburg Debutante Society and Students Against Drunk Driving. She also has been a volunteer for the CASA Christmas Toy Shop. Ulrich's honors include the Most Spirited Award and the Byars Scholarship. After graduation, she plans to work in broadcasting.

Fokianos, a senior communications major at the University of Tampa, is the station manager at the school's WUTV-TV, and has participated in summer internships at ABC-TV in New York in 2002 and NBC News Channel 8 in 2003. His honors include first place for the Protovin Media Award in 2003, dean's list honors in 2002 and the PTK Society Leadership Awards in 2002. After graduation, he plans to work in television broadcasting.
