Road argument ends in stabbing

(ran PW, PS editions)

Road rage led to a fight Friday afternoon that left an 18-year-old man in critical condition at Community Hospital of New Port Richey, city police reported.

The incident happened near the corner of Grand Boulevard and Tangerine Drive. According to a news release, Heric A. Millan, 18, got into an argument with three men: Teddy Richards, 18, Richards' 17-year-old brother and an unidentified man, according to a news release.

Millan got back into his vehicle and drove to his home at 5038 Tangelo Drive, with the Richards brothers following him, the release said. Once home, Millan solicited help from his 17-year-old brother and his 23-year-old cousin.

They all began fist fighting in the driveway of Millan's home, the report said.

Police say Millan pulled out a 4-inch switch blade knife and stabbed Teddy Richards in his right side.

Richards suffered a lacerated liver and needed emergency surgery, the news release said.

Millan was charged with aggravated battery and possession of a self-propelled knife. He was released from the county jail early Saturday on $10,500 bond.
