TAKE A LOOK

The Lakes Region Library of the Citrus County Library System (CCLS) is hosting a program featuring Jim O'Neil and his four Pembroke Welsh Corgis in a children's program entitled "Love Your Pets" from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 17, from 6:30-7:00 in the Youth Room. Mr. O'Neil, a Field Librarian with the Citrus County Library System for nearly ten years, will share his expertise on giving tender loving care to dogs.

All four Welsh Corgis visiting the library with Mr. O'Neil are retired breeding stock adopted from well-known Corgi breeders, Lee and David English, of Lecanto. Each of the dogs has a Canine Good Citizen Certificate and has participated in various pet therapy programs at elder care facilities. One of the dogs is currently an assistance dog while another has retired due to age.

Mr. O'Neil has raised, trained, and shown purebred dogs, primarily smooth and wirehaired miniature dachshunds, for many years. He has also been active in placing and adopting retired show dogs and breeding stock.

After a question and answer period, the dogs will be available to interact with the children.
