Traffic stop triggers drug trafficking charge

A Homosassa Springs man was arrested Sunday night on charges of drug trafficking after a deputy found more than 1 ounce of cocaine in his car, an arrest report said. Jason Robert Courter, 23, was stopped on suspicion of speeding about 9 p.m. Sunday along W Glen Street near Leisure Acres. The traffic stop was made by Citrus County sheriff's Deputy Ryan Glaze, who is a canine officer with a police dog named Kane. According to the report, Courter gave consent for a search of his vehicle. Courter was released from jail after posting $5,000 bail.
