Two suspects sought in

Monday night motel robbery

Two masked men robbed a Ridge Manor motel Monday night and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a Hernando County sheriff's report. Investigators are looking for two suspects who walked into the Day's Inn at 6320 Windmere Ridge Road, near the Interstate 75 and State Road 50 interchange, at 9:40 p.m., approached an employee and demanded money. According to a sheriff's report, one of the suspects wore a gold-colored mask similar to the one used in the Silence of the Lambs movie. One of the suspects brandished an undisclosed weapon, the report said. The suspects were last seen running behind the hotel toward Pine Right Lane. Sheriff's deputies and dog units canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspects.
