Temperatures expected to dip into the 20s tonight

Temperatures have been forecast to fall to 28 tonight with a north-northeast wind of 3 mph to 9 mph, making the temperature feel like 16, the Pasco Office of Emergency Management reported. In response to the cold weather, the Holy Ground Homeless Shelter, in coordination with Pasco County, is reminding residents that there is cold weather shelter space at 8835 Denton Ave. in Hudson. Hot meals will be provided. Transportation can be provided by calling Holy Ground at (727) 863-9123. Anyone willing to donate blankets, cots or food is asked to deliver the items to the shelter or call to arrange pickup.

The owners of the average $55,300 home in Holiday would see their county taxes drop from $250 to $43 if the County Commission wanted to create a second $25,000 homestead exemption for low-income seniors. The exemption would not reduce school taxes. A story in Tuesday's Pasco Times was incorrect on that point.

Judy Parker is the events/marketing coordinator for the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce. Her name was misspelled in a story in Tuesday's Pasco Times.
