A drama of the human spirit

Dahlia Legault, left, plays Miss Judith Fellowes and Harvey Lasky plays the Rev. Lawrence Shannon in Tennessee Williams' Night of the Iguana, which runs through Sunday at Stage West Community Playhouse in Spring Hill. The drama is set in the summer of 1940 in the Costa Verde Hotel in Puerto Barrio, on the west coast of Mexico. Shannon, whose congregation ousted him 20 years ago for unseemly chasing of young females, has wandered the globe as a tour guide and found his way back to a familiar haunt, the run-down cliff-side hotel run by friends. He ditches his tour bus full of Baptist ladies from Texas and collapses in an emotional heap at his friends' retreat. This drama contains strong language and is not recommended for children.
