McDonald's robber pulls off drive-through stickup

An armed man jumped through a McDonald's drive-through window early Thursday and robbed the restaurant, then left through the window, Tampa police said.

According to a police report, the man approached the open window of the McDonald's at 1908 E Hillsborough Ave. at about 1:30 a.m. The drive-through is open 24 hours, a manager said.

The man jumped in through the window, police said, and grabbed money from a cash tray at the front counter. When an employee tried to stop him, he lifted his shirt to reveal a chrome handgun. The man then jumped back out of the window and fled west on Hillsborough Avenue.

The robber was black, in his late 30s, 5-feet-11 and weighing about 200 pounds. He was clean-shaven with a short Afro and was wearing a green plaid jacket.
