Florida Suncoast Writers' Conference

Pulitzer Prize winner Norman Mailer (see interview, Page 1P) opens the 32nd annual Florida Suncoast Writers' Conference on Friday at 1 p.m. at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. He will give a workshop, "Some Problems in Writing," after his talk and be available for signing. Verlyn Klinkenborg (see story, Page 4P) will give a speech on "The Craft of Consciousness" at the conference's Saturday dinner and will offer two workshops. Other writers offering workshops at the three-day conference include Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni (Vine of Desire) and Robert Olen Butler (A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain). Registration is $245.
