Ashly Galante, 15, Palm Harbor

Galante, the youngest competitor at the recent USA Bowling National Amateur Championships, finished 57th in a field of 242. Galante, a freshman at Tarpon Springs, rolled a 712 series to win the pretournament sweeper against 150 others. She qualified three times for national youth tournaments and rolled a 260-744 in the Pinellas County High School League.

C.A. Richardson, 38, St. Petersburg

Richardson completed both the ESPN and Pro Redfish Tours with nine top-25 finishes in 11 events, including second place in Lafitte, La. He was second in the Ranger Cup (redfish) standings and fifth overall in Team of the Year by seven points. He recently was named to represent four national pro fishing teams in the upcoming season.

Max Gallin, 12, East Lake

Gallin was selected as one of two goalkeepers for the U-12 Region C Olympic Development Soccer Team, which represents the west coast of Florida. He will have an opportunity to try out for Florida's development team this spring. Gallin is a seventh-grade honor student at Tarpon Springs Middle School and plays soccer with the Clearwater Chargers Club.

Millie Nuoffer, 87, Dunedin

Nuoffer was the oldest female in the Gasparilla Distance Classic women's 5-kilometer run Jan. 24. The grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 11 walked the course and finished in 58 minutes, 28 seconds.
