River Ridge 17
Land O'Lakes 12

Wesley Chapel 58
"Maybe we're the first (Pasco) team to go 0-2. But it happens."
_ DALE CAPARASO, Pasco coach, after his team's second straight defeat.
NATE TOOLE, HUDSON: The senior running back hammered Pasco for 164 rushing yards, including TDs of 77, 7 and 6 yards on 19 carries.
D.J. CROSBY, MITCHELL: The junior running back/defensive back intercepted three passes and rushed for 52 yards in the loss to CCC.
DOMINIC BROWN, PASCO: The junior wide receiver caught five passes for 193 yards, including touchdowns of 60 and 78 yards, and completed a 49-yard pass to Deran Burns.
ZACK CARTER, WESLEY CHAPEL: The senior came back from an ankle injury to run for 117 yards on five carries and scored on a 69-yard run.
SAM BELL, RIVER RIDGE: The senior running back had the decisive TD on a 72-yard punt return after intercepting a pass to set up a scoring drive.
TOUGHING IT OUT
Toole looked mortal twice on Friday _ when he hobbled off the field with an ankle injury after a 26-yard run in the third quarter and when he lay on the bench with a bag of ice on the ankle later in the quarter. Other than that, he was virtually unstoppable, averaging 8.6 yards on 19 carries. He showed strength and speed during a 77-yard touchdown run, bowling over a tackler on the right sideline before outracing the secondary to the end zone. All while battling an ankle sprain.
"He's been unbelieveable," Hudson coach Mark Nash said. "You should see his foot. It's just solid black and blue. The kid just gives you everything he's got."
SAVED BY (THE) BELL
River Ridge's Sam Bell took over in the second half against Gulf. His interception set up a seven-play, 73-yard scoring drive that pulled the Knights within four, and his 72-yard punt return enabled River Ridge to overcome a two-touchdown deficit to win. Bell led all receivers with five catches for 55 yards.
GOT HIS BACK
Ryan Rigau started at quarterback for Land O'Lakes, but it was the backups who threw TDs. Joe Weatherford hooked up with Develin Robinson for a 23-yard score in the first. Later, with the game out of reach and the teams playing reserves, Mark Soril capped a 69-yard drive with a 5-yard TD toss to Jerome Blyden.
LOOKING FOR ANSWERS
Zephyrhills coach Tom Fisher used three quarterbacks _ Joe Burgess, Sederikk Cunningham and Kyle Sizemore. All were ineffective. Playing one of the more aggressive, sack-happy defenses in the county, the three faced constant pressure and finished a combined 1-for-11 for 4 yards and two interceptions.
ODDS AND ENDS
+ Roger Hill was all over the field for Hudson, sacking Kyle Hobbs, dropping Mike Onyskin for a 2-yard loss and smacking Tony Smith with one of the hardest hits of the night.
+ Royce Simonds and Matt Edelman intercepted passes for Hudson. Tommy Snow had one negated by an interference penalty.
+ Wesley Chapel kicker Jon Heiser has made 12 extra points in the first two games.
JUST AN OBSERVATION
+ Doubt no more. Hudson is for real.
+ Pasco will struggle until it improves its discipline.
+ Wesley Chapel has the size and depth to match any county team.
