New Port Richey Public Library

HOURS: Monday-Wednesday: noon to 8 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 5939 Main St., (727) 841-4547.

WRITERS HOUR: 4-5 p.m. Mondays.

WRITERS WORKSHOP: 5-8 p.m. Mondays.

GED: 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Call the library (727) 841-4547 ext. 292.

INTERNET FOR BEGINNERS: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

MS. TRACEY'S BEDTIME STORIES: 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Ages 2-4. Kids may wear their pajamas.

LIBRARY BOOK SALE DAY: Proceeds support the local library. This sale happens the third Wednesday of each month. $1 for hard covers; 50 cents for paperbacks.

MOMMY AND ME AND DADDIES TOO: 9:30 and 11 a.m. Fridays. Ages 2-4. Join other parents and their children to sing, make crafts and read stories.

COMPUTERS IN PLAIN ENGLISH: 3 p.m. Friday. Seating is limited; register in advance.

Get more news at the New Port Richey Library. Patrons now have online access to over 450 newspapers. Highlights include the New York Times, along with a complete Florida collection. Go to www.tblc.org/newport, click on online databases and click on newspaper archives. There you will find everything from the Anchorage Daily News to the Wall Street Journal.

Winners of the create a slogan, design a logo contest are: 1st place $50 Books-A-Million gift certificate was awarded to Patricia Watts; 2nd place $30 gift certificate to Lisa Adams; and 3rd place $15 gift certificate to Colleen Braun. Honorable mention goes to Puala Showen, D.C. Adams, Ron Cirillo, Troy Anderson and George Robinson. Look for the winning slogan and design in the library's next newsletter. Many entries were received from the very young to the young at heart and the Teen Advisory Club picked the winners.
