A public hearing originally scheduled for Monday on the proposed Wal-Mart on U.S. 19 has been postponed. The city's Planning and Zoning Board is now scheduled to consider the site plan and a proposed development agreement for the Wal-Mart at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 inside City Hall, 324 E Pine St. City officials said Monday's hearing was postponed because Wal-Mart representatives have not submitted the development agreement. At the October meeting, the board is expected to look over Wal-Mart's proposal, listen to public comments and make a recommendation to the City Commission. Wal-Mart has proposed building a a 210,000-square-foot supercenter on 75 acres on the east side of U.S. 19, just south of the Anclote River.
