Carrier Florida recently announced that Senica Air Conditioning, 5121 Caribbean Drive, Spring Hill, a local retailer of Carrier equipment, tied for first place in August sales nationwide in the 2004 Cool Cash Fall Promo.

Carrier Florida is running the fall promo on its Infinity series heat pump with Puron refrigerant through this month. Customers who purchase the high energy efficiency heat pump will receive a $1,200 rebate.

Senica Air Conditioning and Bay Area Air Conditioning of Crystal River tied for first place in sales of the heat pump.

Cheryl Love, director of quality management at Oak Hill Hospital, announced that employee Vicki Veasey has successfully completed the risk management program at St. Petersburg College. She is now eligible to become a Florida licensed health care risk manager.

Anesta Boice, trust officer at Capital City Trust Co., recently completed the Introduction to Financial Planning online course through Florida State University. The 10-week course is part of FSU's certificate in financial planning program and meets the educational requirements of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

The course provided an overview of the field of financial planning and the planning process, including ethical considerations.

Steve W. Pearson, broker and owner of ERA Pearson Realty in Hernando and Pasco counties, attended the Florida Association of Realtors 88th annual convention and trade expo Aug. 18-22 at the Renaissance Orlando Resort.

The event brings Realtors from around the state together to discuss and vote on key issues that shape the profession and state association. In addition to committee meetings, members attended educational seminars on topics such as developing creative marketing strategies, using the latest computer technology and real estate industry trends.

Martha Helena Borrego of ERA Pearson Realty, 2178 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, has successfully completed certified international property specialist courses including the Americas and International Real Estate, Europe and International Real Estate, Asia/Pacific and International Real Estate, and Investment and Financial Analysis.

The courses are sponsored by the Puerto Rico Association of Realtors in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

These courses fulfill educational requirements of the certified international property specialist designation awarded by the National Association of Realtors. Topics included special problems in international transactions, cultural and historical elements of the client's region, and marketing properties and services.

Borrego, born in Colombia, is a single mother of two who relocated to Spring Hill two years ago from Sewickley, Pa. She worked as a tax aide volunteer for the AARP before beginning her career as a real estate agent.

Borrego speaks fluent Spanish and specializes in first-time home buyers, relocations and investment opportunities in both residential and commercial properties. She can be reached at 683-4820.

Oak Hill Hospital, 11375 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill, has announced its "stars" _ associates of the month _ for September. Each month, an associate representing each of the hospital's three areas of service _ nursing, ancillary and support _ is chosen in a process that involves nominations and voting by the staff.

This month's stars are: Millie Strmensky, Kristin Latkowski and Al Dixon.

Strmensky, a licensed practical nurse, has been an enterostomy nurse since June 1976. She has lived in Florida and worked for Hospital Corporation of America, now known as HCA, since 1973. Before joining Oak Hill in 1989, she worked at Community Hospital in New Port Richey and Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point. Strmensky and her husband, Phillip, live near Oak Hill.

Latkowski, a licensed physical therapy assistant, is originally from Massachusetts. She has lived in Florida for 16 years. She and her two children, Janette, 13, and Ryan, 5, live in the Northdale section of Tampa. Latkowski joined Oak Hill's rehab/physical therapy department in December 2001.

Dixon, a security guard, has been a familiar face at Oak Hill since 1988. He lives in Hudson with his wife, Sharon. They have two sons, Drew and Joe, and four grandchildren.
