Due to extensive water damage suffered during Frances, the Crystal River Government Center at 801 SE U.S. 19, Crystal River, will be closed until repairs are finished. This center includes offices for the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Supervisor of Elections, the Property Appraiser and the Tax Collector.
The anticipated reopening date is early October. Some details:
+ A clerk's office courier will visit the center from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. During that time, residents may drop off documents and the courier will bring them to the Inverness clerk's office for processing. The courier will let you know if your documents can be transported to the Inverness office or if you will need to visit the clerk's office in person to have them processed. + Voters are asked to call the Inverness elections office with election questions. Early voting will begin Oct. 18 and continue through Nov. 1, Monday through Saturday.
+ The Property Appraiser's Office is trying to locate temporary space to serve residents who use the Crystal River office. Meantime, call the Inverness office at 341-6600 for information and products. The office can e-mail, fax or mail most information to residents. Fax is 341-6660. The Web site is www.pa.citrus.fl.us.
+ For the Tax Collector's Office, customer service representatives will be at the Crystal River center from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday to collect tag renewals, completed parking placard applications and parking placard renewals. The information will be processed in Inverness and mailed back to customers.
Transactions requiring full service _ such as title transfers, hunting and fishing licenses, new occupational license applications, occupational license renewals and tax transactions _ will be handled at the Inverness office, 210 N Apopka Ave., two blocks north of the Citrus County Courthouse.
