Marauders stave off Barons in four games

Host Clearwater Central Catholic survived 10 set points and rallied to defeat St. Petersburg Catholic, 22-25, 27-25, 25-15, 26-24 on Tuesday.

Leading two sets to one, the Marauders (7-4) trailed 24-14 in the fourth set before scoring the final 12 points behind the serve of Lizzy Ignac to clinch the win.

After a timeout at set point, CCC coach Fabien Ardila called his team together.

"I told them if we just play our game we can still pull it out," Ardila said. "Our girls just came through and never gave up."

Katie Ignac set her sister up for most of Lizzy Ignac's 15 kills, several of which came during the final rally.

"That was the most exciting game we've ever had," Ardila said.
