D.J. Sykes, 13, reads news on the computer at the Hugh Embry branch of the Pasco County Library in Dade City on Wednesday. He says his uncle Willie Echols, 40, also of Dade City, is in the military stationed in Iraq, and after he heard on the news yesterday about some hostage being killed, he wanted to know more about it. He said the events were not discussed at school so he went to a news site on the Web to learn more about the situation. Sykes last spoke with his uncle about two weeks ago. When asked how he feels about his uncle's service, Sykes, wearing an Army T-shirt given to him by his uncle, replied, "I'm kind of cool with it because he's there doing his job. I plan on doing the same thing when I get old enough."
