Water advisory issued for Strickland Beach

Health officials have issued a water advisory for Robert J. Strickland Beach, also known as Hudson Beach, after finding high levels of enteric bacteria in the water. The bacteria are an indication of fecal pollution, which could come from stormwater runoff, animal waste or human sewage, the Pasco County Health Department said. Similar advisories remain in effect at the Energy and Marine Center and Oelsner Park Beach, both in Port Richey. Officials say the water at all three facilities could pose "a potential health risk to the bathing public."
