MTV to air version
of Citrus High prank
Citrus County will be featured on national television next week. At 4 p.m. Wednesday, MTV plans to air a re-enactment of a September 2003 high school prank in which Citrus High School students shot paint balls at Crystal River High School's homecoming floats. Producers of the MTV series High School Stories arranged a re-enactment using Citrus County students, but it was filmed in Tampa. Earlier this month, Comedy Central's The Daily Show featured a piece about the Inverness Cooter Fest. The Travel Channel this summer also featured a local business that builds hovercrafts.
