A 31-year-old Ridge Manor man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl outside her home.

Larry E. Day Jr. of 7155 La Dora Drive was taken into custody on a warrant around 4 p.m. and charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a second-degree felony.

Bail was set at $10,000.

According to a sheriff's report, Day met the teenage girl on Sept. 10 and asked for her telephone number and whether she had a boyfriend. The girl, whose identity is being withheld because of the nature of the allegations, reportedly told Day she was 16.

Eight days later, neighbors spotted Day and the victim having sex next to a garage outside the girl's home, the report stated.

Anyone 24 years or older who engages in sexual activity with a 16- or 17-year-old is charged with the second-degree felony, which carries a potential prison sentence of up to 15 years.
