The Tampa Palms Community Development District has its 2005 figures set in stone.
At Wednesday's meeting, the board officially adopted a 2.6 mill tax rate for the 2005 fiscal year. That means the owner of a $200,000 home, minus the standard $25,000 exemption, would pay $455 a year to the CDD.
The board also adopted the $1.4-million final budget for the 2005 fiscal year.
The next CDD meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Compton Park Recreation Center.
Candidate withdraws from mayoral race
TEMPLE TERRACE _ Mayoral candidate Jo Ann Jeter withdrew from the three-person race Thursday, citing personal reasons.
Jeter, 72, said she wanted the freedom to spend more time with her husband of 55 years, Hugh. Hugh Jeter, 76, recently underwent tests regarding a potential illness, she said.
Her departure leaves City Council member Joe Affronti and Temple Terrace businessman Kenneth Tozier as the mayoral candidates on the Nov. 2 ballot.
Jeter, a City Council member and a busy volunteer for decades, said she plans to remain active.
"I don't have to be mayor to work for the city," she said.
