Products recalled for their hazard potential

The following products were recalled between Sept. 17 and 23:

+ 81,000 director's chairs for children by Delta Enterprise Corp. The fabric seat can come off the frame, posing hazards of cuts and falls to young children. The child's director-style chair is constructed of tubular metal with a canvas seat and back, and features popular characters such as the Wiggles, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and Disney princesses. The following model numbers are recalled: TC83536WG, TC83531DO, TC83533PS and TC83532SB. They were sold at discount department and toy stores from April through July for about $10. + 1,000 Wild Country brand helium carabiners used in rock climbing. The carabiner gate may come open under a heavy load, reducing the strength of the carabiner, which can lead to its breaking if the climber falls. The carabiners were sold under the following model names: Helium Dyneema, Helium DYN QD 5 X 13, Helium Clean Wire and Oxygen-Helium. + 18,000 executive office chairs by Gruga U.S.A., dba Novimex Fashion Ltd. The legs on the base of the chair can break, posing a risk of injury. Model 795-0115 with black leather and model 795-0228 with black fabric with date code prior to April 1, 2004, are included in this recall. + 140,000 Reebok "Iverson/Answer" toddler shoes by Reebok International Ltd. The I-3 logo tag on the tongue of the shoe can be peeled off, posing a choking hazard to young children. The recalled mid- and low-style athletic shoes were sold in toddler sizes 2 through 10. Model numbers included in the recall are 99553, B99553, 99554, B99554, 105155, B105155, 105158, B105158, 108292 and B108292. They were sold at Reebok, independent, children's apparel and athletic shoe stores from March through August for about $35. Call toll-free 1-800-843-4444;

+ 195,000 1.5-ounce boxes of "Carry Me Pack" Mini Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies with best when purchased dates of 20JANBK and 21JANBK by Nabisco Foods. The bags inside the Oreo boxes may contain Ritz Bits Cheese Sandwiches, made with milk ingredients, which can cause severe or life-threatening reactions in those allergic to milk. They were sold in special club pack trays at BJ's Wholesale Club stores and individually by retailers. Return product to the store where purchased for refund. Call toll-free 1-800-323-4243.
