The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest classroom refresher course for drivers age 50 and older. The program has helped millions of drivers remain safe on the roads.
The eight-hour course is designed to refresh drivers on the current rules of the road and safe vehicle operation plus provide information on how to adjust to common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time.
Those taking the course can also learn about proper following distance, the safest way to change lanes and make turns at intersections, the effects of medications on drivers, minimizing the dangers of blind spots, limiting driver distractions, proper use of safety belts and more. Students will leave with a greater appreciation of driving challenges and an increased ability to avoid collisions and injuries.
