SUIT OVER 700: The Giants fan who caught Barry Bonds' 700th homer is being sued by a man who says he is the rightful owner and claims it was stolen from him during a mad scramble. According to a restraining order to be filed in state court today, Timothy Murphy said Steve Williams stole the ball from him during a melee in the left-centerfield bleachers at SBC Park on Sept. 17.

A'S: Struggling left-hander Mark Mulder will start Friday as planned after the team discussed going with September callup Joe Blanton instead. Mulder is 0-3 with a 7.71 ERA in his past six starts.

CARDINALS: Second baseman Tony Womack left the game against Houston in the seventh after getting hit on the left arm with a pitch. Womack fell in pain and was escorted off after a few minutes.
