As if your Pinellas County football calendar hasn't had enough scratches and scribblings this season, find room for another change:
Sarasota Booker will be at Osceola at 6 p.m. Saturday. And, of course, that is subject to change.
This key Class 3A, District 11 game was scheduled for tonight at Warrior Stadium, but because county schools were shut down Monday and Tuesday the Pinellas County school district wanted to move it to Friday.
But Friday was the night of Osceola's oft-postponed homecoming dance (the result of Charley, four hurricanes ago, for those keeping track.)
Saturday was free because Osceola is no longer playing Palm Harbor U. The county decided to move all those postponed Week 2 games from Saturday to the new "Week 11", where teams that don't make the playoffs can get in those missing 10th games. Friday night, the county will play its regular Week 5 schedule.
"It gives us an extra day to prepare," Warriors coach George Palmer said. "Everybody's pretty healthy, but Booker is awfully fast. They're very, very tough. We'll have to work hard to be able to slow them down a little.
"But if we can do that we might do well."
